Item Catalog List
In the Item Catalog List page, define the manufacturers or wholesalers that you purchase items from. You can assign discount groups to these item catalogs as well as product groups. All catalog items that are assigned with the Catalog Code are visible from the list view.
Set up an item catalog
- Choose the icon, enter Item Catalog List, and then choose the related link.
- Choose the New action to create a new item catalog entry.
- In the Code field, enter a unique identifier for the item catalog.
- In the Description field, enter a short description of the item catalog.
- In the Manufacturer Code field, select a code from the Manufacturers list if applicable.
- In the Contact No. field, select the related contact from the Contacts list which belongs to the manufacturer or wholesaler.
The Contact Name field is updated with the name of the selected contact.
The remaining fields show what has been assigned to the item catalog:
- The Items field indicates how many catalog items are assigned to the item catalog (Catalog Item Card > Catalog FastTab > Catalog Code).
- The Discount Groups field indicates how many catalog discount groups are assigned to the item catalog (Item Catalog List > Related > Catalog > Discount Groups).
- The Product Groups field indicates how many product groups are assigned to the item catalog (Item Catalog List > Related > Catalog > Product Groups).
Add discount groups
Discount Groups are negotiated with the manufacturers and wholesalers for different types of items.
- On the Item Catalog List page, choose Catalog > Discount Groups on the Related menu.
- In the Catalog Discount Groups page, enter a unique identifier in the Code field.
- In the Description field, enter a short description.
- In the Discount % field, enter the discount as a percentage.
- Repeat steps 2-4 for all discounts the manufacturer or wholesaler has offered.
Add main product groups
Main Product Groups categorize the different items offered by the manufacturer or wholesaler. For example, electronics would be a main product group.
- On the Item Catalog List page, choose Catalog > Main Product Groups on the Related menu.
- In the Catalog Main Prod. Groups page, enter a unique identifier in the Code field.
- In the Description field, enter a short description.
- In the Type field, select Main Product Group.
- In the Calculation Group field, enter the calculation group for calculating catalog items with different job charges.
Add product groups
Product Groups are the sub-groups of the main product groups. For example, a cable would be a product group of the main product group for electronics.
- On the Item Catalog List page, choose Catalog > Product Groups on the Related menu.
- In the Catalog Prod. Groups page, enter a unique identifier in the Code field.
- In the Description field, enter a short description.
- In the Type field, select Product Group.
- In the Parent Code field, select the main product group.
- In the Calculation Group field, enter the calculation group for calculating catalog items with different job charges.
- Repeat steps 2-6 for additional sub-groups.
Update items
On the Actions menu, choose the Update Items action to open the Update Items From Catalog batch job that will update multiple catalog items at once.
The Update Items From Catalog batch job gives you the option to transfer catalog item text and prices and/or replace existing item extended text. Turning on the Synchronize All Catalog Items toggle allows you to consider the catalog items that have been marked as Item Synchronized, which are skipped by default.
In the Nonstock Items FastTab you can set filters on specific catalog codes, catalog item numbers, etc. to limit which catalog items are updated.
