Service Documents
Calculations in service documents are similar to sales quotes and orders except the calculations are done on the items in the Service Quote Lines (service quotes), Service Lines (service orders) and Service Item Worksheet lines (service quotes/orders). This enables you to calculate a price for the service document based on the normal cost price using a special calculation schema for the service lines. Once the calculation is complete, the values can be transferred back to the line of the service document.
The Calculation functionality is accessible from the Service Quote Lines, Service Lines, and Service Item Worksheet pages by choosing the Calculation action on the Line menu.
Create Calculation
If no calculation is available for the document line, no calculations are displayed in the Calculations page. Choose the New action to create a new calculation and then choose the Enter key to assign a number. It is possible to create more than one calculation per document line.
If the Standard Calc. Schedule No. field on the item used in the document line is filled in, the standard calculation schedule is used for the new calculation. Otherwise the Calculation Schedules page opens for you to select a calculation schedule manually.
The values of the document line are transferred to the calculation header; note that the Replenishment System field is set to Purchase or Prod. Order, depending on whether the item has a Production BOM or not. The link between the document line and the calculation is shown on the Document FastTab in the Calculation Card, either Service Quote or Service Order.
Transfer Values
Calculated unit price, line discount %, and unit cost can be transferred back to the service document line. For more information, see Transfer Value.
Concurrent Calculations
If a service order is created from a service quote and concurrent calculations are activated, a new calculation will be created for the service order line and added to the concurrent calculation. For more information, see Concurrent Calculations.
