Daily Time Recording Page
The Daily Time Recording page is used with released procurement lines that are set with Procurement Channel = Time Entry. However, other WBS lines can be manually added to the time entries via the Project No. and WBS fields. It can also be used to record non-project activities that a resource completed during their recorded working hours.
This topic describes the fields, actions, and FactBoxes in the Daily Time Recording page.
General FastTab
The fields in the General FastTab are described in the following table.

Resource No. | Specifies the current resource number. | |
Period Type | Determines the filter of the lines and the visibility of additional information. The options are Day and Week. | |
Period Name | Specifies the current period name, based on the current day or week, depending on the selected Period Type. | |
Date Filter | Specifies the current date filter, based on the current day or week, depending on the selected Period Type. | |
Work Time Recording | Start of Work | Specifies the earliest work starting time. This field is only shown when Period Type = Day and if the Use Work Time Recording toggle is turned on in the Time Entry Setup page. |
End of Work | Specifies the latest work starting time. This field is only shown when Period Type = Day and if the Use Work Time Recording toggle is turned on in the Time Entry Setup page. |

Break (h) | Specifies the brake time in hours. This field is only shown when Period Type = Day and if the Use Work Time Recording toggle is turned on in the Time Entry Setup page. |

Totals | Work Hours (h) | Specifies the sum in hours of the total work time entries for the period. Choosing the value in this field opens the Work Time Recording page, which allows you to enter the start/end of work as well as break hours for multiple days at once. This field is shown if the Use Work Time Recording toggle is turned on in the Time Entry Setup page. |
Recorded Hours (h) | Specifies the sum of all recorded work hours over all lines within the period. | |
Time Delta (h) | Specifies the difference in hours between the total work time and the recorded times for the period. This field is shown if the Use Work Time Recording toggle is turned on in the Time Entry Setup page. |
Lines FastTab
The fields in the Lines FastTab are described in the following table.

Date | Specifies the date for the time entry. |
Project Procurement No. | Specifies the number of the related job procurement. |
Description | Specifies the description for a time entry detail line. |
Comment | Specifies if the time entry has comments. |
Time from | Specifies the starting time. This field is not mandatory. |
Time To | Specifies the ending time. This field is not mandatory. |
Quantity | Specifies the number of hours that have been entered. This can be entered manually or calculated automatically from the Time from and Time To field. If the quantity was calculated from the Time from and Time To field values, changing the quantity will have no effect on the other fields. For example, a time from 8:00-10:00 is entered. If the quantity is changed from 2 to 4, the time will still be set to 8:00-10:00. |
Warnings | Specifies if and how many warnings exist for this line. For more information, see Warnings. |
Status | Specifies information about the status of a time entry line. |
Reason for Rejection | Specifies the reason the time entry submission was rejected. |
Break Time (h) | Specifies the break time in hours. |
Chargeable | Indicates whether the time entry is chargeable to the customer. |
Copied to Resources | Specifies how many other resources this line was copied to. |
Department Code / Project Code | Specifies the global dimensions for the time entry. |
Posted | Indicates whether the time entry line had been posted. |
Posted Quantity | Indicates the quantity of the posted time entry. |
Project Comment | Specifies if comments exist for the related project budget calculation line. |
Project Description | Indicates the description from the related project budget calculation line. |
Project Line Unique No. | Indicates the unique number from the related project budget calculation line. |
Project No. | Specifies the number for the project that is associated with the time record entry. |
Recorded by | Specifies the User ID that recorded the entry. |
Resource No. / Resource Name | Specifies the number and name of the resource. |
Time Sheet Line No. | Indicates the auto-generated number of the time entry line. |
Time Sheet No. | Indicates the number of the time entry from the number series. |
Type | Specifies the type of time record entry. The options are: - Project: to record a time entry on a project - Resource: to record a time entry on a resource and dimension (e.g., cost center). One or the other is set as the default for all resources via the Default Time Entry Type field in the Time Entry Setup page but can be changed manually as needed. |
WBS | Specifies the WBS position of the related project budget calculation line. |
Work Type Code | Specifies which work type the resource applies to. Prices are updated based on this entry. |
Below the lines section, you can view the path from the top position to the current level of a line from the Project Budget Calculation.
Actions
The actions on the Lines FastTab are described in the following table.

Split Line | Splits the selected line into two lines with halved quantities each. | |

Add Delta Time Line | Adds a new line with the difference of the recorded and work time. If work time is not used, the capacity is used for comparison. | |
Line | Dimensions | Opens the Dimensions page, in which you can specify dimensions as needed. |
Activity Details | Opens the Daily Time Rec. Card page, in which you can view and edit the details of the current line. | |
Comments | Opens the Comment Sheet page, in which you can enter additional information about the time activity. | |
Project | Opens a menu that provides access to the Project Card, Project Budget Calculation, Project Planning and Processing, and Project Rolling Calculation pages. |
Time Entry Chart FastTab
The Time Entry Chart FastTab is a bar chart that shows the Target Hours (resource capacity), Presence Hours (specified work hours), Resource Hours (recorded work hours for Type = Resource), and Project Hours (recorded work hours for Type = Project) for different periods (day, week, month, and year).
It visualizes the comparison of the working time (gray) with the assigned hours, which are divided into project hours (turquoise) and resource hours (dark green). The line represents the target working time.
You can choose the Target Hours, Presence Hours, Resource Hours, or Project Hours captions to turn on or off the visual. Hover over each to temporarily change the focus on the bar chart.
Within the chart, hover over any of the bars/lines to view tooltips that specify the total hours for the specified period. For example, if Weeks is the selected period, the Target Hours would show 40 if your daily work-hour template dictates that you work 8 hours per day. Then the Presence Hours and Project Hours will show the cumulative hours as specified and recorded for the week.
The active period is bolded in the timeline at the bottom of the chart.
Note
The Resource and Project Hours are only shown if there are corresponding entries in the Lines FastTab. For example, if no resource lines are entered, only the Target Hours, Presence Hours, and Project Hours will be shown.
Additionally, if the Use Work Time Recording toggle is turned off in the Time Entry Setup page, then no presence hours/working time is visualized.

Home | Submit | Submits all time entry lines for approval. Each line must have a type defined. To submit specific lines for approval, select the line(s) and choose the Submit action in the Lines FastTab. |
Reopen | Reopens all submitted or rejected time entry lines. Each line must have a type defined. To reopen specific lines, select the line(s) and choose the Reopen action in the Lines FastTab. | |
Prepare | Time Entry User Preferences | Opens the Time Entry User Preferences page. Specifies the default filters used when accessing the Project Time Entry Procurement Lines Selection page from the Project Procurement No. field in the Lines FastTab and the filter for the Time Entry Quick Selection FactBox. |
Related | Go to Today | Resets the page to show the information based on the current work date. |
FactBoxes
The FactBoxes on the Daily Time Recording page are described in the following table.

Time Entry Calendar | Shows a monthly, color-coded calendar defaulted to the work date. Different dates can be selected for time recording. The color coding indicates missing time = blue, warnings = red, and completed recording (based on capacity) = green. For more information, see Warnings and Time Entry Calendar. |
Time Entry Quick Selection | Lists all project procurement lines that have Procurement Channel = Time Entry based on filters in Time Entry Setup, Resource Card or within the page. Choosing a line will automatically add the procurement information to the Lines FastTab. |
Time Recording Summary | Shows the sum of the hours by day, week, and month. Can be switched from resource to team view from the Time Recording Summary drop-down arrow. Hidden by default, can be shown with the Personalize feature. |
Project Team Entry Quantities | Shows an overview of the Budget, Posted, Recorded, and Remaining quantities for WBS and Procurement lines. Hidden by default, can be shown with the Personalize feature. |
Project Comment Lines | Shows all comments of the selected WBS line. Hidden by default, can be shown with the Personalize feature. |
